Trope is a brilliant system that uses symbols to define phrasing, accents, and melody.
This system, unlike modern musical notation, follows the Hebrew below and above the words.
Like musical notation the trope symbols and their families/phrasing does not change but their musical sound will, to help the listener know which scroll is being read.
Reading from the Torah, Haftorah or the 5 m'gillot is a great way to engage the text, strengthen Hebrew reading, and be a part of the community.
I would love the opportunity to teach you how to lain (chant)!
